Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Oakroot stretched out his back and yawned as quiet as possible. He would not return to his den this night, he wanted to stay on the beach, looking at the stars. On his way here he had brought some furs, he would get them and get comfortable.

The story Snaketwist had been telling, made Oakroot miss his travels. He had loved making them, the attack by the two longtooths however had made him weary to go on his own. But he did miss travelling to other places, meeting new people...

First he had some promisses to keep.
He wanted to learn the cubs how to set traps, in the mean time he wanted to try to talk to Ridge.
He really had to replace his spear and bow, so he needed to look for new wood too.

And he wanted to try out this new way of drying meat. The Seafolk used it on their fish, so maybe he could somehow do that with meat too. It would be an interesting quest.

Maybe after that he would try to go on a journey, just a short one....

He made himself comfortable in his furs, leaned back and looked at his friends the stars, looking for each star he had named after his loved ones and friends....

Snaketwist stood up and dusted the sand that had clung to his skin off his legs. He felt his muscles were tense, from sitting still so long, so he stretched his arms a bit. "Goodnight, everyone. I should think after a day like this, we should all sleep well." He spoke to Tidemist, Straystar and Windgrace.

He started walking away along the beach. He had forgotten his plan to go back to the ocean and gather his lost pearls. Now it came to his mind, and he doubted they'd be there tomorrow, the currents and the animals of the sea moved things like that quite fast. Oh well. Having battled a daggertooth and won, some pearls were a small loss. There was no use going diving in the dark, anyways.

Snaketwist headed for his cave.

Oakroot saw most elfes from both tribes leaving the beach, some stayed and enjoyed each others company. It was nice to see not only members of his tribe stayed.
He didn't know if Ash wanted to stay too, but he gave he a fur to keep warm.

He looked at the stars again and saw the one for his brother. "Redfern, dear brother, you would have loved this festival..."
Slowly his mind drifted and soon he fell asleep. Sleep visited by lost memories....


When he woke up, the sun was rising slowly above the horizon. He gathered his furs and jug, which was still half full, and went back to his den.
In the beginning his ancestors didn't life in daylight, but these days much had changed. Oakroot still prefered the night, but at times it was pleasant to work in daylight.
Today he would rest a little more in his den and check his weapons to see if some needed mending or had to be replaced.
After the sun would have pass her highest point he would take the cubs and Ridge to set traps.
