Sea elves would probably have something like, "stingers!" and "spines!" for jellyfish and urchins - both of which are extremely painful to touch or step on.

Depends on how far south the tribe is? Florida has like three or for species of owl naturally.

Edit: added after looking online

Camiguin Hawk-owl in the Philippines
Cebu Hawk-owl in the Philippines
Our local (Florida) Burrowing owl is also in the Caribbean

So it is plausible if you want to have them

i believe i did have blisters from a very bad sun burn in my childhood...it is indeed ouch.

...seriously, when your sunburn is bad to the point it even hurts to just lay down...you learn to avoid the sun reeeeal fast after that.
