Roleplaying Rules
These are subject to change as the staff sees fit.
1. Rules that apply to the site in general apply here as well.
2.Players can't start roleplaying in the story until their characters are approved by Tidemist, The High Ones or the Moderator assigned. Please submit your character profiles in the Character submission board.
3.No Text Talk in the actual Role Play forums. This is things like LOL, BRB, ect. If you want to abbreviate a characters name during your post, please let staff know so we can change the settings so you can post initials that will be translated to the full name. This will only be applied to long names.
4. Keep it all Pg-13. No smut is allowed.
5.All posts should meet the roleplay word minimum. Like 100 or 150 words.
6.While we understand every player has a life offline, please try to check in and post every few days to keep activity up. And let us know when you won't be able to post for more than a few days, and please talk with someone else in the storyline to possibly NPC your character(s), or come up with a good excuse for why they are gone while you're out.
7.No new boards will be created for Rps. There are boards set up for the Storylines to be played out in.
8. Keep OOC posts in the OOC threads.
9. No doubling posting, it's just bad manners. If by chance you double post, please ask A High One or the assigned moderator delete it.
10. No Godmodding or Meta Gaming! Here are the definitions for God modding and Meta Gaming:
God Modding: Making one's character god like. They have no limits or boundaries. Examples: Can't be harmed or killed by other players' characters. Killing or injuring other players' characters without permission. Using other players' characters without permission.
Meta Gaming: Having your character know about future events that have not occurred yet. As in it's the use of out of game information.
11. If your character is sending, it should be marked by a * * asterick on either side of what they are sending, so everyone will understand it is sending. please specify if it is a locksend or just a specific group, otherwise it will be considered open for anyone to hear.
12. When a storyline in a section has ended, a banner must be put after the last post to mark it as ended. This will allow multiple storylines to take place in the same thread with less confusion. Below is the code for the banner, simply copy and paste.
12. If you wish for your character to recognize, please submit a comment saying so in the Recognitions List thread. Characters will be randomly choosen to recognize at points decided on by the staff, or allowed if two players want their characters to recognize. If you do NOT wish your character to recognize, again make a comment in the same thread and it will be noted.
13. You are free to use any NPC in the NPC thread, but please do not make a post centered around them. They are secondary characters. So please only make posts that is mainly focused on your own official character.
YOU MUST R&U THESE RULES BEFORE POSTING IN THE STORY. APPROVAL WILL NOT BE GIVEN FOR CHARACTER PROFILES TILL A PLAYER HAS R&U'D
When you break the rules, there will be consequences.
The first occurrence: A warning will be given
Second time: a 7 day ban from the site
Third time: A one month ban from the site
Fourth time: a permanent ban from the site.

Re: Roleplaying Rules
Read and understood!
About the bit with the code for ending a story - would it not be easier to just lock a thread once it's been completed? A mod could unlock it if needed to add to it, at a later date? (Just occurred to me that it's a little awkward to have to refer back to this thread for it, though that's absolutely fine by me otherwise.)

Re: Roleplaying Rules
no, because i'd like the threads to be open whenever players want to start a storyline. also, because the storylines with the same setting will all take place in the same thread, you will have to read through in order to find where it ends, versus just finding the banner to find the end of a story.
