alright, so we have 2 WolfFolk character, and 4 SeaFolk, and a High One. people with two characters do of course have the choice of using only one if they feel like it, just go ahead and let the rest of us know.

so! our first storyline! shall we begin with something wonderfully dramatic, or relatively simple? any ideas anyone?

I'll also likely create a wolfrider sooner or later.

My suggestion for the moment is, "a child gets lost". No idea whose child, which tribe, or which direction they'd be last seen (obviously if wolf-tribe they'd be seen headed to the beach, or into the woods for a sea), or whether it would be all that big of a deal what with sending... Wink

Maybe it's a child that for some reason has trouble sending... it'd probs work better if the child was going into the woods, since it's easier to get lost in the trees than on an open beach.

Too young to send, old enough to scamper.

I think starting off with a simple conflict is a good idea. I like the idea of a young SeaFolk, like Apogee said, being took young to send but being old enough to scamper getting lost in the forest. It would be something both tribes could react over and become concerned about.

There would even be room for conflict if some accusations were thrown around.

yuuup!

The question really is though, are there enough characters to really do much? Why I always advocate a stock bunch of fully playable non-owned npcs to throw into the mix just at least by name or "the spear maker" or "the wine maker" type thing.

We could always think of something smaller and more basic until more people join... or if there is too little we might try to convince Tide into 3 characters per person but I'm not sure we need to worry about making more characters :O A bunch of NPC would be good too if we needed some extra characters, and we could keep with two characters per person Very Happy

I like the lost child idea! But just a heads up here too I'm going to be mostly Mia over the weekend. My dad and sister ( who I love with) have been working out of state and only come home on the weekends so I take the time their here to spend solely with them and my homework if needed.

Late nightlight bulb! Edit,

What about an annual festival where the tribes come together to trade on a large scale like a bazaar with a feast at the end, but during the day of the feast a pair of children one from each tribe wanders off? And we go a looking for em?

Kai i love that idea!! it seems everyone can agree something dramatic that might cause a little fighting between the tribes would be enjoyable. i did have an idea of a "Flood and Flower" festival for the tribes, but wasn't sure how to make it work. perhaps it is called...umm...Festival of Tides? Tides and Harvest?

it is, like Kai said, a few days of celebration, eatting, drinking, dancing, and possibly even trading between the members of the tribe who need something but maybe have been too busy to go visit the other tribe., one of the few times where the tribes actually interact fully for an extended period of time.

Leanan, perhaps the children are NPC? probably Kai and I could control one each for the duration of the storyline. we're used to doing things like that to keep a storyline moving on track. probably they could hence forth be referenced to as Cubling and Fishling. or Kitling if you guys prefer the generic pure elf affection term.

I like the idea of the Festival and the cubling and fishling (that sounds odd but kind of cute) wandering off. It at least gives one of my characters, Ridge, to be there since he's one of the cub minders.

Hey,

I've noticed that all our elves are single (no lovemate or lifemate) and that none are currently related to each other. I would love to have relationships for my elves, both romantical and family ones. Anyone interested in having either of my characters as lovemate, friend, sibling, or other family member?

Oh and I like the festival idea too, and Cubling and Fishling.

Stormcloud and Ridge could be friends since they're both less than a century. Also, he's just about minded every elf younger than about 70 when they were cubs.

It says in Serpent Fang's profile that he's had a lot of lovemates, so it wouldn't unrealistic for him to be someone's lovemate... but I don't know if anyone would want him to be, being Mr. Silent-Moody and all that.

"Fry" Wink

Yeah I like that idea a lot! Because the adults would be distracted - even the cub tenders - and all it takes is one little troublemaker to lead another into danger. Very Happy

I *can* start just.... rollin up npcs. I do this all the time anyway, I have quite literally hundreds of elves and am never, ever afraid to just throw out more of them for general consumption. We did that a lot in other online and snail mail holts, just to make sure that folks have someone to interact with.

Obviously then if anyone creates a character that has a similar role, the PC takes over and the NPC is retired or just reassigned to a lesser role. (Like a "fire keeper" type npc, and then someone makes a fire shaper.)

Aren't wavedancer children called pips? And I like fry Very Happy That's cute!

Leanan, I would love for Tern to have some family too! As I said before they kind of have a similar appearance (hair wise, and Tern also has blue eyes) so they could be cousins maybe?
