What do/would you use?
Ok. I have a question.
Ever since the time of the dino's I have been using Photoshop 7.0 for my drawings on my computer. I think it is about time to use a newer version or maybe a different program???
Which program do you advice or recommand?

Re: What do/would you use?
i use photoshop CS3. works like a charm for me!
though i probably would like to eventually upgrade to the latest version...some day. photoshop is awesome. especially because SO MANY PEOPLE use it, they tend to develope awesome brushes/textures/patterns for it.
i used to use a program called Manga Studio....it's nice, but it doesn't have nearly the same amount of user made resources like Photoshop! but it'd probably work for someone who needs something simpler..at least it has layers!^^

Re: What do/would you use?
Thx! I think I will go for CS6 then.... I'd like to get more options in the program. I stayed with 7 for so long because it worked for me and I got used to it, lol. Why throw away a good thing, right?

Re: What do/would you use?
I will.....
I have trouble with the smudge-tool (my favo), it is really pixselsy, lol. Not a word I know, but when I use it the color changes and gets a green glow.....? You know something I can do about it or a site I could visite?

Re: What do/would you use?
i'd have to see what the issue is and what exactly you're trying to do in order to help you. usually the smudge tool does that...it smudges stuff.

Re: What do/would you use?
I know, it is my favorite tool, but I want to smudge 2 browns and when I smudge it turns to green...
I had that once with Photoshop 7, changed some settings and it was fine after. Now I changed it and it just got lighter as if mixed with white???????
I have seen some great tutorials on how to use other tools and get the same result, now I need to practise and see if that works as good.

Re: What do/would you use?
No, I am using brown at the moment, haven't tried other colors.
I used two layers to smudge, the basiclayer and the layer with the color I want to smudge. When I select only the smudge-layer I don't see the green "glow"....
I will make a screenshot next time I get behind my computer.

Re: What do/would you use?
you should try to play with the settings of your smudge tool, that could be causing it. and i think the things you wanna smudge need to be on the same layer but that could just be a thing of mine. IDK

Re: What do/would you use?
Thx. I have tried that too, all on the same layer,, but still the same result. Must be the settings, cause I re-installed Photoshop 7 and got the same result..... think I will doodle a bit. I have found some helpfull tutorials on YouTube.
Or maybe my computer is just too old..... (7-8 years).
If that doesn't help I will try to develop a new style......
